1 lack 和lack of 分不清

lack 作动词，后面应该要直接跟宾语：如 A number of students lack skills.

lack 作名词，后面应该要加个介词才行：如 Man can understand the universe but not women. Because man is lack of thatunderstanding. 男人可以了解宇宙却不能了解女人，因为男人缺乏那种脑细胞。

2 benefit 和benefit from 分不清

作不及物动词，benefit from... ‘从...中受益’.如：Do they get any benefit from this game? 他们能从 游戏中得到什么利益吗?。

作及物动词，benefit 表示 ‘对...有益’, 如：They are working together to benefit the whole community. 他们在为整个社区的利益共同努力。

3 modern 被错拼成mordern

避免单词拼错可以记单词的词根词源：来自mode,模式，方式，尺度，-ern,形容词后缀。引申词义现存的，最新的模式，现代的。

4 outweigh 被错拼成outweight

(out-,超过，weigh,称重。)

The benefits of the scheme outweigh the disadvantages. 这项计划利大于弊。

The advantages of this deal largely outweigh the disadvantages.
这笔交易的利远大于弊。

5 potential 被误写为potentials

•  The boy has great potential.
这个男孩有很大的潜力。

•  The school strives to treat students as individuals and to help each one to achieve their full potential.
学校力图因材施教，并帮助每位学生发挥他们的全部潜能。
